Malay Language Translation Server

One of the mission on drupal.my is to commence the effort as the center for Drupal translation for Malay language using the localization server, covering Drupal core and contributed modules.

With the server, it is hope that anyone who are fluent with Malay language can assist in the translation and share the fruit of translation to all users. Discuss translation related stuffs in the new translation forum or request contribution modules to be added into the translation server.

Head over to translation page and start translate.

Moving to localize.drupal.org

I've created an issue to move MS into l.d.o

Pros:
- integrate directly with all projects (hence cut down module request)
- more users and hopefully more translators
- up-to-date translation server
- faster (hopefully)

Will temporary close down module request forum.

I have updated the official MS translation page at drupal.org/project/ms to the current available translation .po generated from drupal.my translation server.

Anyone who would like to help with translation please start by selecting the Drupal project in the drop down.

The core should be the focus.

If you've other modules that have been translated, let us know in the forum or contact us.

Looks like we need to devise a new plan for drupal.my, or otherwise it will soon be a "projek syok sendiri". The translation server would be a good re-start for drupal.my.

It has also been suggested that drupal.my should be hosted in local internet DC (jaring/tmnet). Right now drupal.my is hosted in US-TX DC which the latency is about 500-600 ms from malaysia, compared to about 100 ms to singapore and perhaps less than 80 ms if it is hosted in local DC.

Should we go to local DC ?

I agreed with your point. The names, "Drupal.my" is refer to Drupal community locate in Malaysia and our target is for Malaysians. So it should consider to move in our local DC since i observed that it take a quite long to load this page.
