Rasaya semakin banyak website government USA menggunakan Drupal. Government negara lain tak payah cakaplah, New Zealand, France, Belgium, etc. Di USA, contohnya recovery.gov, usaspending.gov. dan yang terbaru Whitehouse.gov! Hebat2.

Tim O'Reilly's Three Insights into the Drupaling of the White House Tim O'Reilly gives us his insight into how the White House justswitched from a proprietary content management system whipped up by a federal contractor to one based on Drupal, the free and open source software made by the Internet. Or, more specifically, by people who spend a lot of time on the Internet and like to make and give away software. There are three things about O'Reilly's analysis that pop out in particular. Consider this fair warning: the first is really, really technical, at least for 98% of the population. This is a big day for Drupal, and for Open Source in government, and something all of us in the community should be very proud of. First of all, I think Drupal is a perfect match for President Barack Obama's push for an open and transparent government -- Drupal provides a great mix of traditional web content management features and social features that enable open communication and participation. This combination is what we refer to associal publishing and is why so many people use Drupal. Furthermore, I think Drupal is a great fit in terms of President Barack Obama's desire to reduce cost and to act quickly. Drupal's flexibility and modularity enables organizations to build sites quickly at lower cost than most other systems. In other words, Drupal is a great match for the U.S. government. Why the White House's Embrace of Drupal Matters Drupal developers are abuzz with the realization that the White House's new Recovery.govsite was built using the free and open-source content management platform Drupal. Pre-Recovery.gov, the perhaps highest-profile use of Drupal had been the Onion website. But that's not the only reason that Drupal fans are excited. tapi mostly malaysia government website guna joomla... either kurang pendedahan drupal dalam gomen atau tak ramai yang berani nak guna drupal.
ada juga Govt run Drupal

www.jpm.gov.my, www.mygeoportal.gov.my menggunakan drupal, juga begitu laman web www.e-fatwa.gov.my (jakim), www.doe.gov.my. Saya berani katakan, pengguna drupal adalah pengguna yang lebih "teknikal". Mengapa ?

Joomla, senang, Ye mmg senang nak install. Personally, sy mmg tak suka joomla kerana istilah GNU/GPL, OSS tdak boleh dipakai 100% untuk Joomla. tahukah anda, anda perlu membeli sesetengah component/module/extensions jika anda mahukan ciri-ciri tambahan untuk site joomla anda ? Ye, ada yang free ada yang kena bayar juga. Sy dulu pun guna Joomla, so ini bukan komen prejudis dan sbg.
kebanyakkan platform Joomla dipasangkan pada OS Windows Server di web-web server kerajaan. Jika anda ingin tahu, cubalah search di google "xampp site:gov.my". anda akan dapati bayak site-site govt (Malaysia lah) yang menggunakan all-in-one-installer A.K.A php-apache-mysql AIO installer. All-in-one installer mmg memudahkan pemasangan, tetapi tidak mementingkan ciri-ciri performance, security, reliability dan scalability. Konsepnya, janji ON dan jalan sahaja, lain2 tak kisah. Sy hairan kenapa tidak IIS +php, drupal boleh run (siap dgn rewrite lagi) pada IIS 7.5 + php-fastcgi. Mugkin joomla tak leh run kut, or mugkin juga diorang tak tahu tak buat mcm mana? Dalam bahasa inggerisnya " They don't know what they are doing"
